Course Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore the exciting world of computer science, coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence<\/strong> through hands-on LEGO building and programming!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will learn fundamental computer science concepts\u2014including events, loops, conditionals, and variables<\/strong>\u2014while designing, building, and programming LEGO robots using the LEGO Coding Canvas. Through interactive projects and hands-on challenges, students will develop computational thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No prior coding or robotics experience is required. Students will learn step by step and apply what they learn to create, test, improve, and present their own projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Students Will Learn<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course includes six units:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Computer Science Basics, Events, Loops, Conditionals, Variables, AI & Data<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Each unit includes four lessons followed by a design challenge<\/strong>, giving students an opportunity to apply their new skills to a hands-on project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Students will work in teams of four<\/strong> throughout the course. They will collaborate to plan, build, program, test, troubleshoot, and improve their robots. At the end of each project, teams will have opportunities to demonstrate and present their designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Computers & Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Students will work in groups of four, with each group sharing one computer to design and program their robots using the LEGO Coding Canvas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Computers will not be provided by CCLS.<\/strong> Each group should have at least one student bring a laptop or computer that can access the LEGO Coding Canvas through a web browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Instructors<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    David Guo,<\/strong> David is a high school freshman with a strong interest in STEM, robotics, and programming. He has participated in robotics competitions, where he has developed skills in problem-solving, programming, and teamwork. David has also gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at CCLS. He enjoys hands-on, interactive projects and looks forward to helping students discover the fun of coding, robotics, and STEM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Michael Cobb,<\/strong> Michael is a tenth-grade student who enjoys badminton and photography and has a strong interest in technology and coding. He is excited to share his knowledge with younger students and help them take their first steps into the world of programming. Michael hopes to make coding approachable, creative, and fun for every student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u672c\u8bfe\u7a0b\u5c06\u901a\u8fc7\u52a8\u624b\u5b9e\u8df5\u548c\u56e2\u961f\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u5e2e\u52a9\u5b66\u751f\u5b66\u4e60\u8ba1\u7b97\u673a\u79d1\u5b66\u7684\u57fa\u7840\u6982\u5ff5\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u4e8b\u4ef6\uff08<\/strong>Events<\/strong>\uff09\u3001\u5faa\u73af\uff08<\/strong>Loops<\/strong>\uff09\u3001\u6761\u4ef6\u5224\u65ad\uff08<\/strong>Conditionals<\/strong>\uff09\u548c\u53d8\u91cf\uff08<\/strong>Variables<\/strong>\uff09<\/strong>\u3002\u5b66\u751f\u5c06\u4f7f\u7528 LEGO Coding Canvas \u8bbe\u8ba1\u3001\u642d\u5efa\u548c\u7f16\u7a0b LEGO \u673a\u5668\u4eba\uff0c\u5728\u5b8c\u6210\u4e92\u52a8\u9879\u76ee\u548c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6311\u6218\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\u57f9\u517b\u8ba1\u7b97\u601d\u7ef4\u3001\u903b\u8f91\u601d\u7ef4\u3001\u89e3\u51b3\u95ee\u9898\u3001\u521b\u9020\u529b\u548c\u56e2\u961f\u5408\u4f5c\u80fd\u529b<\/strong>\u3002\u672c\u8bfe\u7a0b\u65e0\u9700\u7f16\u7a0b\u6216\u673a\u5668\u4eba\u65b9\u9762\u7684\u57fa\u7840<\/strong>\u3002\u5b66\u751f\u5c06\u4ece\u57fa\u7840\u77e5\u8bc6\u5f00\u59cb\uff0c\u5faa\u5e8f\u6e10\u8fdb\u5730\u5b66\u4e60\uff0c\u5e76\u5c06\u6240\u5b66\u77e5\u8bc6\u5e94\u7528\u5230\u673a\u5668\u4eba\u8bbe\u8ba1\u3001\u7f16\u7a0b\u3001\u6d4b\u8bd5\u3001\u6539\u8fdb\u548c\u5c55\u793a\u4e2d\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
