Class description:
This course is designed for students aged 8 and above, offering an immersive exploration of various scientific disciplines including physical science, chemistry, earth science, and life science. Through a combination of text, images, and videos, students will embark on a captivating scientific journey. They’ll engage in hands-on projects to reinforce learning and empower them to take charge of their education. The curriculum encourages curiosity and inquiry, prompting students to ask questions about the world around them. They’ll also learn about scientific tools and methodologies to help find answers. Classes feature lab activities, demonstrations, and games centered around real-life phenomena, making learning interactive and enjoyable. By fostering creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a productive use of curiosity, this course equips students to tackle new challenges and navigate the world with a deeper understanding of science.
About the teacher:
Li Fu, USTC B.S. in Chemical Physics, Yale Ph.D. in Biophysics.
Li earned his Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry at Yale University, and he continued as a William Wiley Fellow at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Li was a teaching assistant at Yale for general, physical, and biological chemistry. He also mentored college students and scholars at PNNL for their research projects. Li also teaches students’ math, logic, and problem-solving skills with a teaching style that excites students to explore the wonders of nature and make sense of abstruse mysteries in scientific ways.
