Dear CCLS Family,
On behalf of the CCLS Management Team and Board Committee, I’d like to share the news that the following students have been awarded The President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2023 in recognition and appreciation for their commitment and outstanding contributions to the CCLS community through volunteer services as student teachers/tutors and/or Teaching Assistants and/or being active in school activities and events such as Spring Festival Gala etc. during the last school year (July 1st, 2022 to June 30th, 2023). Each winner was awarded a personalized certificate of achievement and letter signed by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. (see attached for the inspiring words from our President)

Century Chinese Language School (CCLS) is a non-profit organization developed on the basis of volunteers. Its nearly 30-year presence and development is inseparable from the participation and investment of volunteers, and the future will be even more so. Therefore, we need more supportive volunteering at all levels of the school, from students to parents. CCLS has been approved as an official certification organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). We applied for the PVSA for the eligible individuals this September in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the CCLS community with at least 50% of their volunteer hours serving in CCLS during the last school year (July 1st, 2022 to June 30th,2023).
We will apply for the PVSA for the eligible parents and students (anyone above 5 years old) in August 2024 for this school year (July 1st 2023 to June 30th, 2024) (To be sure you qualify as a PVSA volunteer, read about volunteer’s eligibility). Please make sure to submit the Volunteer Hours Tracking report each time you complete a volunteer service at CCLS using the form https://forms.gle/JimfoCYx56cy73F38
