Introduction to App Lab (P3 or P4)

Age: This class is geared toward beginner to lower-intermediate coders from 8-13 years old, but it is still open to people younger or older than that range who are interested!

Class description:

Have you ever wanted to create small games but didn’t know where to start? Then this class is for you! Code.org’s App Lab allows you to make simple app-like activities that can be played as if it were on a mobile device. This class will teach you how to make basic event-based projects, such as a choose-your-adventure game or a “Cookie Clicker.”Most of the coding is done with blocks in the JavaScript language. Students will be introduced to variables and other things that can be used to make projects more interesting. We will also explore some of Game Lab and experiment with AI in our apps (if time permits). At the end of the course, we will have students share their favorite work with each other!
