Chocoria (Coco) Jiang is a young artist based in Westborough, MA (Boston area). She has studied art for 13 years, having learned drawing/sketching, color pencil, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic paint; and is now focused mainly on studying oil painting. For 4 years now, Coco has submitted original artwork to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and recently received a Silver Key for an oil painting submitted last year. Coco is extremely interested and passionate about art, and is not only invested in the visual arts, but also in music, specifically the violin. For 2 years, Coco was a teacher assistant to Celina Xiong in the Kids’ Drawing Class and developed a love for teaching children through that experience which she hopes she can continue to learn about and grow in through this class. Coco has been the art teacher at CCLS since 2020 Fall.

Greyscale Focused (older beginners)
- Sketchbook (preferably larger than a composition notebook! *recommended: Strathmore 300 Series Sketch Pad (9×12)*)
Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Pad (9×12) - White Plastic Eraser
- Kneaded Eraser
- 12 inch ruler
- Art pencils (3 or more! *recommended 2B, 4B, 8B)
- Pencil sharpener
- Black India Ink (2 oz)
- Paint brushes (3 or more! Any brand is fine, 3+ brushes should vary in size)
- Compressed charcoal OR vine charcoal (black charcoal & white charcoal)
- Black ink pen
